Winter Wonderland
I looked out the window this morning, to see a beautiful sight:
Did you think I was going to say no more snow? Ha, ha, ha! It's still snowing steadily out there - what you see in the picture is just what fell overnight, since Stuart did the driveway one more time yesterday evening! I've shoveled once this morning, and it looks like that out there again already, although the piles on either side of the driveway are getting taller - they're now bigger than Gwenyth! Ah, well, just think of all the exercise I'm getting.
What's so beautiful to me, is the soft way the snow just covers everything. It smooths out all the rough edges, and covers up all the dirt and muck and rocks. Seeing this blanket of snow always makes me think of a verse in Proverbs, that talks about how love covers all offenses - it's so amazing to me. Everything is pristine and fresh - I almost hated to get out the shovel, and start digging it all up. After I finish working, it looks good too - orderly and neat, with a beauty of it's own, but not up to the level that nature does all by itself. And the steadily falling snow is lovely - it's like living in a snow globe!
I spent quite a bit of time last night trying to pick up the right number of stitches on the front of my Favourite Cardigan, to no avail. I admit, I was a bit tired (all that shoveling takes it's toll!), but I just couldn't grasp how to work it out. I finally put it away and knit on my sock for a while, instead. While I was feeding Liam early this morning, inspiration struck, and all became clear. Now, I just need some sit down time so I can have another go at it. I have great confidence that this third time will be the charm!
I came across this great little thing at Maria's blog, and just had to share mine with you - this was a much more enjoyable use of my time than more shoveling!

Aren't we cute? This is a lot of fun - if you have some spare computer time, check it out!
I'd better get back to my snow removal (cleaning off the deck is up next) - if you find the person who keeps shaking the snow globe, will you please ask them to take a break?
That's how God sees us. Amazing!
I love your family photo. Wasn't that fun?

The snow looks beautiful but now that Christmas is over I'd rather have the 72 degree sunny day that we had today ;-)
Happy Shoveling!
