Like you, lots of fun stuff going on here - good stuff, happy stuff, but busy, busy, busy! Here are some of the week's highlights:
All kinds of cookie goodness - I made a choice before we even began to throw my perfectionism out the window, and just let the kids have fun. What a difference it made, things were so much more relaxed and enjoyable, for the kids, but for me, too! Icing was eaten off the spoon, sprinkles went everywhere, and the finished product might horrify some, but they were made with love and fun, while watching the snow fall outside our window and listening to Christmas music.
Thorpe was finished up, and tucked away for gift-giving. I used one ball of Paton's Shetland Chunky Tweed, and needed every last scrap of yarn! I overestimated a bit how much was left after binding off, thus the braids are a tad long and skinny. I cut the yarn at 40" as directed in the pattern, in hindsight, 30" would have given me more strands, for a thicker braid. I'm still quite happy with the result, and even managed the crochet without a hitch - Thank God for Youtube!
Young Master Liam is 6 months old! He has developed an obsession with the remote of late (obviously a chip off the old block!). It feels like he's suddenly gotten, well, big. Really, really big.
Cute cookies! I will be baking a gingerbread house with Niilo... I hope it turns out as much fun as your cookie baking!
Liam is growing too fast! Make him stop!

The cookies look yummy!
I am making the boys each one of those hats out of Patons Shetland Chunky. The Oldest One complains about his ears getting cold. I'll definitely have to check out YouTube for the crochet edge -- never done that before, and I don't crochet, either! :)

Ooh yes - I'm feeling the busy busy eek it's nearly here-ness of Christmas! Love your advent calendar and the fine hat and cookies here. Cute photo of Liam in training with the remote and congrats on all your November posts.

I think the cookies look lovely (and delicious)!
Look at little Mister Liam; he's so darn cute. Clover has quite a thing for the remote also; she came one click away from purchasing a "not nice" movie one time before we noticed! :)

Looks like lots of fun. One of mine just asked when we were making gingerbread houses this year. I tried not to laugh, but we do have to at least make cookies. Like you, I have to turn off a lot of stuff to do it with six kids. . . . Sigh.

That earflap hat is adorable. Crochet? You too? Cookies look delish. Christmas is no time for perfection and yet - look at those marvelous creations!

I can't believe Liam is 6 months. I have been with you here in England probably since the beginning of the year. It took me a while to twig that you were pregnant..... I have (only) 2 kids and I'm continually grateful (was going to say amazed but thought grateful less bittter!) that you have the strength to carve out this time for yourself (for us too!). I am (slowly) returning to knitting after a 14 year gap ( yes, the kids!) ...... have just discovered Ravelry... sowly, slowly, but just reading about it is treat enough! Very best wishes x

I have also gotten over the dreams of Martha Stewart-type sugar cookies, lol! I just let the kiddos have fun...that's what it all about and I think it makes the cookies even sweeter :) And that hat....gorgeous! I love the color. I am really, really hoping to knit my first hat after Christmas - we'll see how that goes ;)
