Here we are at the start of a whole new year, and I celebrate it by ambushing Stuart as he brings in wood, so I can take pictures of him in his Dashing new mitts! I'm not one for making New Years' Resolutions, as I think if you want to change something, you should just do it, rather than wait for January 1. My personal "New Years'' tends to be in the fall, and that's when I'm motivated to change things, more than now, when I just want to curl up by the fire and be left alone. However, I do like to look back and see what I've accomplished over the year.
Early in 2008, I said this was going to be the year of small things, and I was right! Here's the tally:
- Two tea cozies
- Four pairs of fingerless gloves
- Three pairs of felted slippers
- Four winter hats
- Three pairs of socks
- Eleven baby items
- Two sweaters (one for me, and one for Brian)
- Three scarves
- Two shrugs
- And One tiny little egg cozy sweater
Not too bad at all, considering the days and days of pregnancy sickness, and the days and days (and continuing days) of sleepless fog! This year, I'm planning an about face - I'm going to knit for myself. Not only myself, since you and I both know that's almost impossible, but I am going to be the focus. Accordingly, I've cast on for the Favorite Cardigan from Custom Knits, which Stuart nicely gave me for Christmas. I'm using the London Tweed I purchased from Elann a while back, and it's whipping along! I'll have a photo for you soon.
Here is my very last FO for 2008, the Dashing I knit for Stuart. I made no modifications, and used just over two balls of Louisa Harding Kashmir Aran. He likes them so much, now he's asking for a hat!
You knit a lot this past year considering how sick you felt while pregnant. Love the Dashings, and Stuart looks very pleased with them! Happy New Year!

Oh goodness, that 'Favourite Cardigan'?... gorgeous!
Charity, you did an amazing amount of knitting considering you were busy knitting Liam together and I remember just how sick you were feeling, it seemed to last quite a long time too.
Stuart looks quite dashing wearing his Dashings (I know, I just had to say it) :^D

I think it's amazing you got anything knit last year :-)
I think I may make "Pink" from Custom Knits as a spring sweater, but not til I finish what I've got going - I really like Favorite Cardigan too - so many sweaters...so little time!
Oh and I love the Dashing action photo!
