~I'm joining Ginny in her weekly Yarn Along - I love seeing what people are knitting and reading!~
Now that I've completed my green vest, I've turned my attention back to the baby sweater I was working on a few weeks ago. The actual knitting is done, and now I'm sewing the pieces together. Whenever I knit a sweater in parts, I always ask myself why on earth I didn't knit it top-down. The answer? I have no idea. I do prefer top-down sweaters, for more than their seamless construction, but I often end up with a pattern that doesn't use this technique. Strange...
Anyway, I saw the baby in question this week, and he's growing so quickly, I can hardly believe that just a few months ago he entered our lives. I need to get this sweater on his little body, before he outgrows it!
The book I'm reading this week is one I stumbled across during a library database search for gardening books. It's the memoir of a non-gardening guy in England who took on an allotment with his buddy, and I like it a lot. As a fairly new gardener myself, it's nice to hear voiced some of the same thoughts and questions I've had in my head, and as I'm a bit of an Anglophile, anything with British words and phrases is welcome around here. Even though getting into my garden is still a few months away here, my mind can't seem to focus on anything else!
Have you discovered any good books lately? How about a new knitting pattern you're obsessing over? Are you Yarning Along this week?
Hi! My garden is still under a mountain of snow. I'm trying to restrain myself from turning my kitchen table into a temporary garden while I wait for the snow to melt outside. Knitting helps to keep my mind off of it. Have a great week!

That sweater is really coming along. I really like the color. Babies grow so quickly it's hard to get knitting done for them.

I just knit a little baby cardi in cashmerino aran super quick. Now waiting to see the baby. I have literally just cast on Crocus for me from the winter interweaves as part of my stash busting exercise.

Babies do grow so fast it's hard to keep them in handknits!

Not yarning along, but I am obsessed with Little Bee by Chris Cleaves. I picked it up yesterday and can't seem to put it down. Must.not.neglect.family. :)
I will check that book out! At least we can read about gardening, right? :)
